# Messaging system

Customers and vendors can exchange messages in a built-in inbox. Conversations are stored securely in the database (not public on the site). The UI shows recent threads, message content, and optional attachments. Online status is based on recent activity (e.g. active within the last few minutes).

**For Admin**

* Set the Messages Page in Togo Marketplace settings and add the Messages widget.
* Publish guidelines (response times, no offline payments, etc.).

**For vendors**

* Check Messages regularly; unread threads are highlighted in the dashboard widget when configured.
* Use messages for pre-sale questions and logistics, not as a replacement for confirmed booking details on the booking screen.
